Professor A.D.M.E. (Ab) Osterhaus
Chief Scientific Officer, Artemis One Health, Utrecht, The Netherlands; and University Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Germany
Professor Osterhaus will be addressing the Emerging and Re-Emerging Threats by Respiratory Viruses and chairing Session  V focused on Addressing Emerging and Re-Emerging Threats.
Dr. Ab Osterhaus has a long track record as a scientific researcher and PI of numerous major scientific projects. At Artemis he is in charge of setting the research lines, in close collaboration with the Head Research & Development.

Dr. Osterhaus is also a Professor of wildlife virology and virus discovery at Utrecht Univeristy in The Netherlands. He is the former head of the Viroscience Department of the Eramsis Medical Center in Rotterdam where he guided over 140 scientists in their quest for scientific excellence. He has discovered over 50 new viruses in humans and animas which has helped organizations such as the World Health Organization to effectivelt combat outbreaks of SARS and pandemic influenza.
Professor Osterhaus has been chairing the European Scientific Working group on Influenza since 2000.
